Hotels in Los Cabos

Extend your Baja vacation with a relaxing stay in Los Cabos! There are two different areas to consider:

CABO SAN LUCAS

This is where Searcher docks on Day 12 of your tour. It’s a big city with an abundance of shopping, nightlife, music, tourist activities, tours, rental cars, and time-share opportunities here. There are upscale resorts with spas and golf courses in the “Corridor,” which is along a gorgeous stretch of coastline between Cabo and San Jose del Cabo.  These resorts self-contained with restaurants and activities since they are a distance from town. These are fairly easy to research and book via an internet search.

SAN JOSE DEL CABO

RECOMMENDED! This town is about 45 minutes out of Cabo San Lucas, towards the airport. It is quieter and has a Mexican “village” feel. There is  a nice estuary for birding and walking. San Jose offers some shopping, though is less overwhelming than Cabo San Lucas. It has a quaint town square, historic church, and an increasing number of art galleries. There are some fine restaurants in San Jose, many that serve the impressive Baja wines from Guadalupe Valley.

Hotel Tropicanawww.tropicanainn.com.mx Convenient to everything near the town plaza with nice rooms, great service, a pool, access to the estuary, and a charming restaurant and bar.

El Encanto Innwww.elencantoinn.com A beautiful inn recommended by passengers.

Casa Nataliacasanatalia.com Passengers have described this boutique inn in the heart of San Jose as “cozy and wonderful.”

Hotel Posada Real Los Caboswww.posadareal-hotels.com/loscabos  This beachfront property is a short distance from town (San Jose) and offers a meal plan and spa services. Recommended by Searcher guests.

There are many delicious restaurants and bars in San Jose del Cabo serving Mexican classics. Capt Art recommends French Riviera for a coffee and croissant, reminiscent of a Parisian bakery! www.frenchrivieraloscabos.com

Others to try include: Don Sanchez Bistro and Wine Bar www.donsanchezrestaurant.com/ (across the street from Hotel Tropicana) and Casa Natalia’s restaurant.

TODOS SANTOS

A few hours outside of Cabo San Lucas is the beach town of Todos Santos. It is on the Pacific Coast and reaching it requires driving a rental car from Cabo. It has a remote feel and a beautiful beach. The town has an artsy vibe, and many American ex-pats live here. Be aware that the beach is quite distant from the town and its facilities.
