Chris Earley

Chris is the University of Guelph Arboretum’s Interpretive Biologist and Education Coordinator. He teaches a variety of bird, insect and art workshops and college courses, as well as designing signage and leading tours. He is the author of five bird books: Warblers; Sparrows and Finches; Waterfowl; Hawks and Owls of Eastern North America; and Birds A-Z. He also co-authored the successful 100 Nature Hotspots in Ontario, Canada.

Exploring the world’s varied habitats and watching wildlife is one of Chris’ passions. As a super photographer, Chris’ photos serve to educate and inspire. In 2013, Chris was awarded the Richards Education Award by Ontario Nature for “his significant contributions as an enthusiastic natural history educator over the past 25 years.” But he leaves enough free time to go to the cottage, play basketball and soccer, and spend time with his wife and children.
